SYL is born as a 1964 Pisces in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. There is not much time to get attached to this city, because the family moves to Wormerveer when she is two years old.
Life above Amsterdam turned out not be ´it´ too, so after five years the family returns to the Rotterdam region. Capelle aan den IJssel, to be exact.
At the Secondary school she ´falls into the hands´ of a Dutch teacher who stimulates her to write more and better.

In 1987 she spreads her wings and decides that Utrecht is the perfect spot to stand on her own two feet. Through a friend she comes in contact with the phenomenon ´pendulum divining´ and meets a Higher Energy who presents himself as HENRY.
As soon as Syl realises that this Henry is not gonna tell her what to do (because Universally speaking there is no right or wrong) but mirrors her who she really is, this contact starts playing a bigger role.

In 1994 her processes bring Syl back to Capelle aan den IJssel and this turns out to be fruitful location for a remarkable ´birth´.
It was not a new development. Writing had played a key role in her life for quite some time. Not only was her personal archive filled with poems, short stories, contributions to fan club magazines and school papers, but at that point she is already working as a journalist for four years.
Plans to write a book are frequent. Attempts too. But the end result is – in her critic eyes – never worth the trouble to do something serious with it.

Until a morning in 1996 when she wakes up with a storyline in her head. As soon as the story finds his way from her head to the paper, it becomes a book. The spiritual novel is called Wandering Spirits and is published in 2003 (sorry, only in Dutch available).

This book is such a success that Syl acquired a taste for ‘sharing what she thinks and feels’. In 2003 she becomes a certified counsellor and when she is approached by readers for more information about the subject in the book, workshops and lectures emerge. To organize this all properly, Peter and Syl decide to register Handreiking.com as a firm on May 19, 2004.

In 2004 she starts a new and fascinating project: My Turning Point in which a group of people share their life lessons by using of a list of questions. (Sorry again, only in Dutch available).

In 2005 Syl receives – through meditation – a new kind of treatment. Pasting. Old patterns in the cellular memory are touched and can be changed.
In this same year a new writing project starts, in association with Henry. In the first booklet he shares his vision on Judgement. The booklet is writing pretty fast, but to date not published.

After 15 years employment, Syl steps into the media world as an independent writer, so she can plan her time more efficient. Instinctively this gives her more space to manoeuvre and this space is filled in by a new consultation matrix that she receives – again by meditation – in 2008: The Transformation Bridge.
A few months later another matrix follows: The Quantum Flight.

In the meantime Syl is trying to find a Publisher for My Turning Point, but in spite of very positive and enthusiastic reactions, this concept – for one reason or another – didn’t fit into their list.

2009 starts with a reprinting of Wandering Spirits – fourth edition – and because of the renewed contact with that publisher, Syl en Peter decides to publish My Turning Point ourselves. And this time under our own flag: Handreiking.com Publishing.

And now this project is completed – after 4 years – the second novel starts to draw attention. It was already started, but somewhere halfway chapter 3 the story took a break. For how long? Time will tell!
